I got this yesterday and immediately started using it. The stylus is a little rubber ball thing on the end, which at first I thought was going to be awkward, but actually works very well with my Kindle Fire HD. The ball point end is your typical ball point. Nothing terribly special. I'm an architect and typically never use a ball point. If I need to sign my name I guess this will do, but otherwise won't get much use.
Overall I'm happy with the stylus and will get a lot of use out of it.

This is a handy little device to use on you Kindle, phone, or other electronic device.
Plus when you need a pen in a hurry there it is.

I live in the Northeast and answering a smart phone in the winter required that I take off my gloves and freeze my hands. No more. with this stylus I can have warm hands and still answer my phone
